St. Andrew's Showstoppers

This 12-week workshop will focus on all aspects of putting on a musical theatre production. Students will gain experience and knowledge in acting, singing, dancing, scenery, and props. The workshop will conclude with an exciting final performance for friends and family. Teamwork is a major focus and all participants are guaranteed a role. We encourage students with all levels of experience to attend.

A 50s Musical!

It’s the 1950s, hula-hoops are in high demand, and so is Little Red Riding Hood! Wise Prince Jason (winner of the Math Olympics and the Nobel Prize), Strong Prince Justin (who can bench press his own mother) and ordinary Loud Prince Frank all want to woo Red Riding Hood. So the king and queen hire the Fairy Godmother to set three tasks for the princes. Only the prince who can find the missing girl, defeat the dragon and awaken a castle visitor from her slumber earns the right to woo Wed Widing Hood... that is, Red Riding Hood! Alas, Little Red’s couch-potato parents don’t want to lose their little girl. How else will they get their cookies delivered to Grandmother? So they hire the evil queen to thwart the Fairy Godmother’s contest. Luckily, Little Red Riding Hood's two sisters — Big Green Riding Hood and Medium Purple Riding Hood — help balance out the situation. Complete with the big bad wolf and a sock-hopping ‘50s score, this adventure is guaranteed to end in happily-ever-after!

Who: St. Andrews students entering 3rd-8th grades

When: Tuesdays, 2/21/12-5/15/12 from 4-6pm at the school (No class on March 6th)

Final performances will be held on May 19th and 20th, 2012 at Children's Theatre of Annapolis

St. Andrew's Showstoppers summer camp

Kids Cabaret

This week long summer camp focuses on the three main components of musical theatre. Singing, dancing and acting! Your student will have a blast as they sing and dance to styles ranging from classic musical theatre ballads to funky hip-hop. Students will build confidence playing improv games, working on group acting scenes, and so much more! There will be a final performance for families and friends. The performance will take place on Friday during the last hour of camp. Don't forget to send in a pre-washed t-shirt for your student to tie-dye and wear for the performance!

Who:St. Andrews students entering 3rd-8th grades

When:June 11-15, 2012 from 10am-3pm

Final performance will be held on Friday the 15th at 2pm in the "big room" at the school.
